Berlin Reichstag Building Compulsory Registration

Berlin Reichstag Building Entrance

Wandering around on a clear day in Berlin, I was hoping to be able to go up to the top of the Reichstag building, which has a glass dome and great views over the city. Unfortunately instead of the previous system which involved waiting in line, you now have to register online three days in advance and let them know you're coming. Apparently the reason for the change is due to a "heightened risk of terrorism", and comes after a period where the area was off-limits to tourists. As an added bonus they've added an ugly white temporary building to the front, which you have to work hard to keep out of your photos!

Still, if you're planning to visit Berlin, the Reichstag is well worth a visit, just make sure you register in advance!
