Faces of Bayon Temple, Angkor, Cambodia
Same Face, different day!
Its often interesting to go back to shoot a location that you've been to previously. This is especially true when the location is somewhere like Angkor in Cambodia. With today's shot, I was aiming to take in a view that I knew I'd captured before, partly to see if I'd like the new version better than the old, and partly just because I like the way these faces line up.
For the sake of the comparison, the version of this image I took in 2005 is in the full blog post, along with some notes about settings used in both images!
These two images are taken about 5 1/2 years apart. The focal length and settings used are very similar in terms of equivalence (remembering that you need to multiply the focal length and aperture of the E-500 to get a similar image on a full frame sensor on the 5D mark 2. In part this is coincidental, because I hadn't looked at the original version for quit a long time, but remember it because it was one of my favourite early shots.
Settings used:
2011: (top) Canon 5D mk2 + 70-200mm f2.8 tamron lens - 100mm, f6.3, 1/500 sec, ISO 200.2005: (bottom) Olympus E500 + 40-150mm f3.5-5.6 lens - 48mm, f3.7, 1/250 sec, ISO 100.
