Vespa rider with Shoeboxes stacked high

How many shoeboxes can you take on a Vespa?

At least 192. Maybe more, but I'm yet to see proof!

Day 2 with the 5D MkII, so I took it for a walk around Chinatown. Another day, another market. My challenge today was changing light conditions and to see how well the auto ISO on the 5D II worked. The bad news it didn't in the situations where its handy to have - frequently changing from bright light to dark conditions. I had the feeling yesterday that in "aperture priority" mode the camera was programed to select a slow shutter speed in preference to bumping up the ISO. Sure enough - there were plenty of times when in low light, I ended up with shutter speeds of 1/40 or 1/50sec with a 50mm lens. That's just not fast enough to reliably get sharp images. In absence of an ability to set the minimum at something sensible, it basically makes the feature useless.

Minor quibbles aside, I'm very impressed with the overall results from the camera. Getting there is taking a lot more concentration because I'm having to think about everything just a little bit differently, and there are a few shots I won't get quite right in the meantime, such as this one which has a fair bit more noise than necessary because its at ISO 3200 when it doesn't really need to be!
