McPissoir a la Suisse
Coming from Australia, the idea of paying to go to the toilet is one that even after years of traveling remains foreign. If I were writing a handbook on how to make visitors feel uncomfortable in your city, a key recommendation would be making toilets few and far between, then charging visitors for the privilege of using those that do exist. As an added bonus, PPP (pay per pee) toilets almost guarantee that visitors are going to experience the smell of urine on the streets sooner or later.
Switzerland sets a new record in terms of price with an asking price of CHF 2.00 (US$2.45). If you're male, and only need to do a no.1, you can go for the discounted CHF 1.50 McPissoir option. At least in this case the bathrooms appeared to be "McClean", unlike many other pay-per-use toilets I've encountered in Europe (though I only went as far as the turnstiles, so the appearance of cleanliness may have been a facade!).
If you're in this situation at the train station in Lucern and need a bathroom - there is a McDonalds McBathroom just across the road from the train station, which isn't guarded or locked as is the case in some other McDonalds in Europe.

It's wonderful to travel in
It's wonderful to travel in Newseeland and Australia, because you never get a problem about finding a toilet. They are everywhere or you can see a sign in which direction the toilet is.
Last year I was 2,5 months in Australia and when I came back, I didn't have the thinking of this problem: I went out of the restaurant without going to the toilet and after a while I thought "oh shit, I'm in Germany, there is no toilet here". So you must go behind a bush or a car or something like that.
In April I drove for a long time (3 hours) on a federal road/highway (not a motorway/freeway) – there are no toilets in Germany and in April there are no leafs at the bush. After a while I fortunately found a bush with leafs and I run behind the bush and went naturally into a turd - there were a lot of turds. It was very disgusting and I thought, that I live in a barbarian-land.
