One year ago - Sunset at Santa Barbara, California

When I left Australia last a bit over a year ago, my plan was to have a lot of afternoons that looked just like this photo. I was also planning to spend a fair few of them in the water looking at the scene from the opposite direction. Fortunately or unfortunately, I've spent hardly any time near the beach and when I have made it there its been generally a out of season and too cold (for me at least) to get in the water.

It feels like we're once again approaching the end of the year at a rapid rate. Its also a good time to think about what's coming up in the year ahead. About goals, aspirations and what's next. I'm off to Rio de Janeiro in the next few days, then Africa for Christmas and New Years. After that so far I have a fairly blank sheet for the year ahead, with lots of ideas to try to fit in but only a limited amount of space. I have a feeling however that its going to be a good year.
