Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Ayutthaya Thailand

Ayutthaya just north of Bangkok is a fairly common day trip from Bangkok. It was the second capital of Siam and is now a UNESCO world Heritage site. As such its dotted with crumbling ruins and makes a decent location to go sight-seeing by bicycle.

If you're sensitive to regularly paying five times the local admission price for attractions, its probably not going to be an enjoyable day out, because its going to be an experience you repeat at every stop. Tickets for Thais are 10 Baht whereas foreigners end up paying 50 baht for each temple.
